Position Highlights

ICBC is continuing to expand its road testing through a phased approach and is looking to hire additional Driver Examiners for an initial term of six (6) months In Williams Lake.
Our customers rely on driver licensing services, including road tests, to ensure they can drive for work, get to work, to school, to volunteering and for other important daily activities.

As a Driver Examiner your key focus will be will be to conduct road tests and determine the knowledge and ability of drivers to safely operate commercial vehicles and passenger vehicles.

Training will be provided during the first three (3) weeks of employment. Training will take place in November in the lower mainland.

Position Requirements

  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service
  • Ability to make decisions independently in challenging customer situations
  • Ability to work in variable working conditions (weather, customer vehicles etc.)
  • Data entry skills; cash handling experience is an asset

Additional requirements include:

  • Successful completion of a health assessment based on the job requirements.
  • Completion of a clean criminal record check by the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General as required under the Criminal Records Review Act. Forms will be provided to you if selected.
  • Possession of a valid class 5 BC driver's license or better and a clean driving record.
  • Meet eligibility requirement to successfully complete the AAMVA Driver Examiner Certificate Program.

Our main priority is to protect the health and safety of our employees and customers. Safety protocols will be required, and Personal Protective Equipment (masks, eye protection, optional gloves and seat covers) will be provided for all road examinations.

Hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 9am to 12:30pm.; 1pm to 4:30pm.

The offer of employment in the position of Driver Examiner will be conditional on the successful completion of the class 5/7 training and testing during your probationary period.

Only candidates legally entitled to work in Canada at present will be considered for this position.
